Chef Amy Vig

Amy decided to pursue a career as a chef after falling in love with food and cooking while at college in Berkeley, CA.  She was inspired by the variety of food available there but realized that she could better ensure the quality of her food if she made it herself.  After a number of health struggles of her own including weight management, digestive issues, and anemia, she realized the true nourishing power of food and became inspired to bring delicious and healthy food to others.  Her favorite saying is “you don’t have to eat steamed vegetables to eat healthy” and Amy lives out that promise every day by making herself, loved ones, and clients food that both tastes good and is good for you.

Amy has catered a number of events ranging in size from 5- to 50 and is also the go-to dinner party chef for family and friends.  After graduating from Bauman College in August 2009 as a Certified Natural Chef, Amy built up Delicious by Nature to help bring her fresh and natural cooking to as many people as possible.

Before officially becoming a chef, Amy worked for a large consulting company.  Through that experience she learned great professional skills including budget management, project management, and customer service.  She also spent many of her college years working with children in after-school programs and sports teams and hopes to be able to spread her healthy eating message to these young, eager minds as well.

Amy is also an avid athlete who loves to work out (yes, really!) and has completed multiple triathlons, a half marathon, and a 350 mile bike trip from San Francisco to LA.  Her fiance is a competitive distance runner who lovingly lets her test all of her recipes on him and provides critiques so that she will bring only the best to her clients.

Currently, in addition to working as a personal chef, Amy is working as a healthy eating educator for a large natural foods store.  This role will enable her to be an even more effective chef for her clients and will help her to bring her messages about healthy eating to an even broader audience.
